Where to stay in Phan Thiet: beachfront hotels 2026

Short answer: most travellers should base themselves on the Mui Ne resort strip along Nguyen Dinh Chieu or in neighbouring Ham Tien — beachfront resorts, kite schools and a run of restaurants. Families want Ham Tien (gentle entry), kitesurfers want central Mui Ne, quieter and newer means Hon Rom to the north, and isolated luxury sits at Ke Ga to the south. The average night runs about $123 (≈3,200,000 ₫), but solid four-stars start from ~$35. Ratings below are pulled from Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Agoda, cross-checked for 2025–2026.

Be clear-eyed about the place: Phan Thiet is a value beach destination, not a polished one. Plenty of resorts date from the 2000s and can look tired even when they are kept clean. The strip is long, so how far you are from a kite spot or a decent cafe matters more than the star rating. "Beachfront" here means 20 to 130 metres from the water, and a few spots on the strip have lost sand to erosion. Sun loungers and umbrellas are usually free for guests.

Ham Tien — for families and beach days

The main tourist strip. Nguyen Dinh Chieu street is lined with hotels, restaurants, shops and money changers. Menus are in English (and Russian), and staff at several resorts speak decent English.

The beach is wide and the entry gently shelving — easy with kids. Waves are almost nonexistent, unlike central Mui Ne. Most 4- and 5-star resorts sit right here.

Best for: families, beach holidays, anyone who wants everything within walking distance.

The Mui Ne strip (Nguyen Dinh Chieu) — for kitesurfers and backpackers

The main road runs from the fishing village along the sea — the epicentre of kite- and windsurfing, with guesthouses, kite hostels and bars. The wind blows almost non-stop from November to March, the swell is real, and a few properties have lost part of their beach to erosion. Hotels are cheaper and the mood is laid-back. Best for: kitesurfers, surfers, backpackers, an active trip.

Hon Rom — quieter and newer

The northern end, past the fishing village. It was built up later, so the resorts are newer and the crowds thinner. Calmer beaches, but shops and cafes are further off — you will want a scooter or a taxi.

Best for: a newer resort and quiet, short of total isolation.

Tien Thanh — for a quiet stay

A calm stretch south of Phan Thiet town. Resorts with private beaches and no bustle. Good for couples and anyone who wants silence.

Best for: couples, romance, escaping the crowd.

Ke Ga — the premium end

The furthest area — about 35 km in a straight line from Ham Tien. This is where the isolated luxury resorts sit: Azerai Ke Ga Bay, Princess D'An Nam. Wild beaches and the Ke Ga lighthouse, worth the drive on its own. The catch is the flip side of the appeal: shops and cafes are far, so you are tied to the resort.

Best for: a splurge, honeymoons, anyone happy to pay for isolation.
