2. Islands and boat tours
Nha Trang is ringed by dozens of islands, and island-hopping is one of the most popular things to do. Pick a route by what you're after.
Monkey Island (Hòn Lao)

Nha Trang is one of Vietnam's main dive hubs. The coral reserve off Hòn Mun, Vietnam's first protected marine area, holds 350+ hard coral species, 230 reef fish species and 15–20 m visibility in season.

5. Waterfalls and eco-parks
Outside the city there are two popular routes for hikers and nature lovers: Ba Ho Waterfalls (25 km from Nha Trang, entry 100,000 VND / ~$4) and Yang Bay eco-park (45 km, entry 120,000 VND / ~$5, with hot springs and a mini-zoo). You can reach both by rented scooter or on a tour.

Mud baths run in any weather, so they're the obvious rainy-day pick. Also good: a spa marathon (three or four treatments in a day still cost a fraction of one session back home), the covered sections of the night market, a Vietnamese cooking class, and the indoor play zones in the malls for kids.
