Meliá Vinpearl Cam Ranh 5★ — an honest 2026 review

Meliá Vinpearl Cam Ranh Beach Resort opened under the Vinpearl brand and later moved under Meliá Hotels International. Don't confuse it with Vinpearl Empire Nha Trang (formerly Melia Vinpearl Nha Trang Empire): that is a city tower in central Nha Trang, not a beach resort, and we cover it in a separate review. Bãi Dài beach, where the resort stands, is part of the coast around Nha Trang, one of the main resorts of Central Vietnam. Couples, families and groups of friends all end up here — villas run from one to four bedrooms, so there is room for everyone.

Location and how to get there

Meliá Vinpearl Cam Ranh sits on the Cam Ranh peninsula in tourist Zone 2, Cam Lâm commune (a district until 2025), Khánh Hòa province. It is quiet and crowd-free — that is the upside. The downside: Nha Trang is 25 km away, so you can't just wander out for a change of scene.

Airport transfer options

The cheapest way is Grab. Landing late or hauling a pile of suitcases? Book a private transfer online in advance instead — a driver meets you with a name sign and you don't have to hunt for anything. The Grab app works fine in Vietnam and takes card payment, no VPN needed.

Villa categories — which to pick

Each of the 200+ villas has its own pool, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a proper bathroom. The grounds are laid out in a colonial style, with lakes threading between the villas — the whole place reads a little like a "Vietnamese Venice."

1 Bedroom Villa — Lake View (93 m²)

30 villas with a lake view. The most compact option — for couples or solo travellers. A bedroom, a living room and a private pool. A great honeymoon pick when you don't want to overpay.

2 Bedroom Villa — Garden View (180 m²)

40 villas set in a tropical garden. A good fit for a family with a child, or a couple that likes space. Two bedrooms, a living room and a private pool.

3 Bedroom Villa — Garden View / Lake View (263 m²)

57 villas with a garden view plus 9 more with a lake view. They suit large families and groups of up to six. The Lake View ones are done in French colonial style — the most photogenic on the whole resort, your Instagram will thank you.

4 Bedroom Villa — Lake View (283 m²)

The 29 largest villas on the grounds. Ideal for a group of friends or two families travelling together. Four bedrooms, a big living room and a private pool — there is room for everyone.

The Level — premium villas

28 Beachfront villas with direct beach access and 7 Ocean View villas. What the program actually gives you is in its own section below.

These are low-season starting rates — in December to March the same villas run one and a half to two times higher. Current for 2026; USD figures use ~26,000 VND = $1, so confirm the live rate before booking.

Bãi Dài beach

Meliá Vinpearl sits on Bãi Dài (Long Beach) — one of the finest beaches in all of Cam Ranh. The shoreline runs for 15 km, and the resort has its own private stretch of it.

The sand is fine, white and pleasant underfoot. The entry into the water is gradual — safe for small children. The South China Sea here is usually calm, without big waves. Best of all, it is far cleaner and quieter than the city beaches of Nha Trang: no day-trippers, only guests of the peninsula resorts.

The Level — Meliá's premium service

The Level is Meliá's signature premium program, available only in the 35 The Level villas: 28 Beachfront + 7 Ocean View. In effect, it is a hotel within the hotel.

What The Level includes

• 20% off every treatment at Akoya Spa
• 20% off dinners in the restaurants
• Priority seating in restaurants, no queuing
• A personal concierge to sort everything out

The real draw of The Level Beachfront villas is direct access to Bãi Dài straight from your terrace. You don't have to go anywhere, the sea is 5–10 metres away. If waking up by the water matters to you, this is the only option on the resort.

Spa, pools and activities

Akoya Spa

A vast 1,800 m² spa — one of the largest in the region. Treatments take place in open pavilions set among the lakes or by the shore — the atmosphere is hard to beat.

The Level guests get 20% off every treatment. Prices range from 500,000 to 3,500,000 VND (~$19–135), depending on what you pick.

Pools

There are two big outdoor pools plus a separate children's pool. And, of course, your own pool in every villa — you could skip the shared ones entirely.

Sport and activities

• Kayaking and SUP straight from the beach
• Fishing for anyone keen

There is no nightlife or evening entertainment to speak of. The nearest bars and clubs are in Nha Trang, 25 km away. If you are here to party, this isn't your resort. But for peace and quiet, it is exactly right.

Staying with kids

For families, Meliá Vinpearl is one of the best options in all of Cam Ranh. The gentle beach entry is safe even for toddlers, and the 3–4 bedroom villas fit the whole extended family.

In reviews, the kids' facilities and especially the animation score below everything else. Honestly, animation is the weak spot. If you are used to Turkish all-inclusive resorts with entertainers on every corner, this will feel low-key. But for a calm family holiday it has everything you need.

Prices and how to save

Prices swing a lot with the villa type and the time of year. Don't be misled by the headline: $49 a night is a rare October low, not what you'll see on Booking in January. Plan on $200+ a night in season. Here are the reference points.

1. Book early — two to three months out, you get a wider choice of villas and usually lower rates
2. Go in low season — October is cheapest, but be ready for rain
3. Watch for Meliá deals — the official site runs flash sales
4. Compare Booking, Agoda, Expedia and melia.com — rates often differ, and Agoda in particular tends to be sharp on Southeast Asia
5. All-inclusive isn't always worth it — work out what you actually spend on food. If you are out on day trips, Half Board comes out cheaper

Should you book it? Yes — if you want a private-pool villa on a good beach, calm surroundings and steady chain-hotel service, and being close to Nha Trang doesn't matter. On Bãi Dài it is the strongest pick for villa choice and variety. No — if you want nightlife, a wall of restaurants beyond the gate, or genuine no-asterisks all-inclusive: look at Selectum Noa, or somewhere closer to town.
